A young Goldfinch enjoys a bit of sunflower seed
after the flower heads form seed they will pick the seed directly from the dried flowers
but they seem to enjoy the sunflower seed quite a bit
the chickadee looks a bit surprised to see his bright friend!
this little ornamental cage I put treats in which is almost always totally cleared by evening is just a freebie a friend was throwing away-
you can get creative + use most anything to offer your feathered friends a treat, I drilled a hole in bottom so it will drain -
Plain sunflower seeds are a hit with all types of birds + leave your seedy flowers on their stalks to dry and you might get to see the birds enjoying them all season long!
